Url: http://library.thinkquest.org/4471/Default.htm
Grade Level: 3-5
Rating: * * * * *
Content: Step-by-Step Word Problems, Multiple Step Problems, Extra
Information, Use Logical Reasoning, Choosing a Calculation Method,
Problems with More Than One Answer, Deciding When to Estimate, Using
Data from a Chart, Work Backwards, Guess and Check, Look for a
Pattern, Draw a Picture, Write your own word problems for our website.
Many students have a difficult time solving word problems. This site
breaks them down into step-by-step instructions that are easy to
understand and help students conceptualize the problem and determine
the solution. Have students try the word problems on the site or have
them read the solving strategies and then try each one. Then they can
write their own problems and submit them to the site. All the problems
have a medieval theme. This Thinkquest Junior site was made by fourth
grade students for fourth grade students.
